DJI 450. Can I just use a larger battery?

I'm still using the batteries that came with the kit, 3300mAh, 11.1V Lipos. I get 8 minutes flying time with a gimbal and GoPro.
Question is, can I use larger batteries to extend flying time or will the extra weight counteract the extra power?
Thanks

It's always a balancing act between higher capacity and higher weight.

Best bet is to find what you current batteries weigh, and shop around for some batteries with additional capacity, but as light as possible.

Ecalc can give you a rough idea of what the additional weight will do to the flight time with a given increase in capacity. Not exact, but it's a good guide.

Or, if your setup will handle the extra voltage, going to 4 cell is an option. I have a stock DJI 450 with the e300 motors/esc's, and I run a 4 cell 3300 mah. Setup with FPV, and a servo, for something else, and I have the timer on my Spektrum set to 12 minutes. Still have around 25/30% left when I land.
