Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Why? Contest

Ask yourself why?

www.MultiRotorForums.com is proud to announce the latest contest in which we seek an answer to the
persistent question…….

Why?

Why a Multi-Rotor?

You probably already know the answer but for someone else, with a particular need or challenging application,
why should they choose to fly a multi-rotor helicopter? Why?

To win this contest you are asked to put your creativity and varied skills to work and submit a video showing
off the many uses and strengths of multi-rotor helicopters. The video should be dynamic, entertaining, and
informative. It will serve as a flagship media piece to promote and explain multi-rotor helicopters to
people wondering what they are and considering one for their application.

The winning video will be featured on the homepage of MultiRotorForums.com and on the contest sponsors’ sites.
In addition to the pride of having been chosen as the winning video, it will provide possibly years of exposure for the
winning producer.

Winning won’t be easy and this may be our most serious competition yet. Submit what you will but keep in mind
that to win you will have to employ your entire bag of tricks and put all of your passion into the project.
We expect this contest to bring the most professional results yet in the form of an answer to the persistent question,
why a multi-rotor?

The effort will be well rewarded with a prize package that can further the growth of a strong start-up or add another
option for an established operator.

WARNING:
You might want to sit down or pull to the side of the road before reading any further.

In return for the time and effort required to produce the winning video, the winner will receive the following;

One (1) Droidworx XM6R (New!) Multi-Rotor Helicopter Frame (Release date August, 2012)

Six (6) AXI 2814/22 Brushless Motors

One (1) HoverflyPRO Flight Control System with HoverflyGPS

Please ask any and all questions before completing your video. PLEASE EXPECT THE CONTEST GUIDELINES TO EVOLVE IN THE
COMING WEEKS AS WE SEEK TO CLARIFY THE DETAILS.

YOU CAN WIN.

BUT TO DO SO, YOU HAVE TO TELL US “WHY?”.

EDITS:

7 July, 2012
1. Entrants that wish to brand their videos (with a production company name, for example) can do so by placing a watermark in the bottom
right corner of the screen for the first 10 seconds of the video. The winning entry will be amended after the contest closes to properly
acknowledge multirotorforums.com, the contest sponsors, and the video's producer but the video itself shouldn't be used as an
advertisement for any one brand or product. To do so reduces the chance that the video will win.

2. To add to Note 1, the video isn't meant to be an advertisement for the contests' sponsors so please don't attempt to sway the votes by
prominently displaying the sponsors' names throughout the video. I'm grateful to the sponsors for their generosity but it's not the intent of the
contest to explicitly market any one product or brand.

8 July
1. Entrants shall secure the proper permissions for the audio and video footage used in their video. Potential winners may be asked to confirm this
before a winner is announced.

30 July
1. The deadline for submissions has been pushed to September 14, 2012. This is an extension of 3 weeks past the original date.

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
i usually post the contest, let the dust settle and then do a mass mailing to the membership of the site. things usually take off from there.

i think that the people planning to participate will have a lot to do and might not want to tip their hand, letting others know they're intent on winning.

OK, call me the village idiot but I have this wacky idea for this contest. I was visualizing some ideas and came to this conclusion that most of us need to interview other heli pilots. Well, since the theme is "Why a Multi" then we obviously need to ask people who already fly multis. I can't see most of us having access to a big group of multi pilots other than those of us that are on here now. SO my idea is to make public domain video clips of ourselves talking about why we use multis and share the footage with each other. Come due date, it will be a little weird to see ourselves in multiple videos BUT, the end goal is to bring new users to the forum. I think WE on this forum are the best community out there to answer these questions so why not increase the sincerity of the final product by all entering ourselves? It's a weird twist on a competition by far but I thought I'd see what kind of feedback it got.

If anyone is serious about this, i see starting a dropbox link we could upload a short clip of ourselves talking about multis.

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
I hope by now some of you have committed to participating in this latest contest and have a rough idea of what you plan to do. It's a lot of work to produce a video like this but we think the prize package is fair compensation for your efforts.

What's that? It's not enough you say??

I admit, I have to agree. No prize package is ever big enough for the good people of MultiRotorForums.com so I'm happy to announce we're adding to it!!!

This just in! XOAR, manufacturers of premium grade wood and carbon fiber propellors, has notified me that they're very happy to add 3 matched sets of 12x4.5 carbon fiber props to the prize package!!

Just in case you've been in a cave for the last two weeks, the prize package is now........

1 Droidworx XM6 (NEW DESIGN!) carbon fiber hexacopter frame with collapsible arms

6 AXI 2814/22 brushless motors

1 HoverflyPRO flight control system with HoverflyGPS included!!

1 Photo Higher camera mount (Which one you ask?? I don't know, you get to choose! Which one do you want??)

1 Camera gimbal controller, winner's choice of HoverflyGIMBAL or Photo Higher Skyline

AND, AS OF TODAY,

6 XOAR 12x4.5 carbon fiber props!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone that is planning to participate!

Bart!!!!

Wow, editing already? I'm still working out what to do. Definately will be submitting something. I don't think I'll win, but I'll certainly get something in for the experience. Good luck everyone. :)

I'd really like to participate, it's really a challenging project, for me will be impossible to make video until end of August because in Italy in August everyone goes on vacation. It would have been much better to do expired at the end of September, in my opinion, many more people could participate, how about?

It would be nice to have more time. I seriously doubt I can pull a video out of my hat with my current workload. Oh well.
