When will it be available in European shops? Some people and dealers semm to got the information that the Phantom 2 will not be available before January in Euope?

DJI released a new firmware V1.08 for Phantom 2!

What’s new?

Firmware
PHANTOM 2 Main Controller Firmware V1.08
1.In Phantom 2 mode, users can set a new home point manually when the aircraft is in “Ready to fly” status as long as a home point has been recorded automatically.
2.In a Failsafe situation, if less than 6 GPS satellites are found for more than 20 seconds, the aircraft will descend automatically.
3.Fixed a glitch that prevented descent after the 2nd level low battery capacity warning occurs when in Naza-m mode.

Assistant Software
1.PHANTOM 2 and PHANTOM 2 VISION will share the PHANTOM 2 Assistant Software.

User Manual
1.Added the 8-Pin port sequence on AVL58 connection diagrams.
2.Added an important note: Keep the wireless video transmission module and other communicating devices away from the compass during installation and connection to avoid interference.
3.Added a note about automatic descent when GPS satellites are found less than 6 for more than 20 seconds while in Failsafe.

Upgrade Notes
1.Upgrade the main controller and central board firmware to the latest version using Assistant Software V1.08. Be sure the central board firmware is V1.0.1.19 or above, otherwise there will be malfunction caused by version mismatch.
2.Upgrade iOSD mini, iOSD Mark II and H3-2D firmware to the latest version before using them with PHANTOM 2.
3.If you have any problems during upgrade, please contact your dealer or DJI Customer Service.

Please click here to download the V1.08 firmware.

Where are you located, Nooky?
As far as I know, their dealers in Germany and UK have stock for Phantom 2.
You can go to DJI website for the Phantom 2 dealer list and find the one who is the nearest to you.

You know what, it seems DJI has set up a customer service call center and repair center in LA, USA.
I hope that will improve the service a lot.

Received my phantom 2 a couple of days ago.

All good, but a MAJOR issue I have at the moment is the inability to change receiver type in the Phantom 2 Assistant.

I NEED to swap the internal radio for something more robust for professional work - more specifically a jeti receiver in either traditional multi wire or ppm flavour.

I hope this is an issue DJI will fix pronto. No response from an email to DJI yet.

I am using the standard radio right now. You can use a Futaba FASST comparable radio. If you want to use something else you will have to swap out the Rx. I am not sure what you mean by more robust vs Futaba FASST. Maybe you can educate me. I got a chance to fly mine today. I am equipped with a H3-2D, iOSD mini and DJI video downlink. The balance is perfect with my setup and the motors are cool on landing. I am getting 15 minutes average flying times with this setup. All the add ons are powered by the main lipo. Not bad in my opinion. I am processing the video right now. My only request would be for DJI to add video/photo start-stop on the RC Tx.

Ed, I use Jeti DS-16 radio equipment and have the option of either ppm or traditional connections, but not s.bus.

I have no issue with futaba fasst, not not about to invest in new radio equipment.

I have swapped in a new receiver, but the assistant software seems to be 'hobbled' as it will not let me choose an alternate Rx connection method.

This functionality has pretty much always been available and I took it as read that it still would be - and it's pretty frustrating to find it isn't.

This issue isn't peculiar to just me, anyone with any other make of radio, which doesn't support s.bus, is in the same situation.

the stock radio might be ok for some, but i need the functionality offered by more channels and a radio system I trust.

I'm hoping dji can rectify this soon.

Ed, that was the first thing I tried, but the RC pane doesn't have the receiver type options. Hopefully this is just an oversight which can readily be fixed.

I can understand the need to have a very basic, easy to use face for newbies, but a full functioned Naza M interface is a must for more advanced users.

i did did try connecting up a naza v2 FC, using naza assistant I can change receiver type, as you'd expect, but the naza assistant doesn't recognise the phantom 2 board, gimbal or smart battery, so no fix there.

please add the option for ppm rx. i want to use my own rx like in my phantom 1. the only reason why i got a phantom 2 was for the longer flight times and now i see in the assistant software that the option is not there :( please fix this ASAP.

thanks
