ok I did it but it is not so easy , I am new in this hobby , I was thinking forums are made to help people when they have problems , an answer with RTFM is silly ,

I agree with you Totuccio...it was not a helpful response. Have you looked at the other areas of the forum? I think this is a good area but maybe ask in the futaba area in another forum? Hopefully someone can come and help!

OK I tend to agree with the comment RTFM... however I do also understand it is a steep learning curve. Reading the f'n manual will hopefully give you a full and better understanding of everything. It is crazy and not to mention potentially dangerous to take one of these craft up into the sky without first having a good understanding and knowledge of what it is you are doing. There are many great videos on youtube and DJI's website which give step by step instructions on how to setup a Naza with a Futaba controller. I suggest you give those a try. I have read and re read the manuals many times and will refer back to them for refreshers. If and when things go wrong it pays to know how to deal with it. knowing how and why everything hangs together will make this hobby much more enjoyable and probably less costly for you.

I too think everyone must RTFM however a single post of RTFM is a curt and snarky response. Good suggestions for Totuccio to check out YouTube and DJI website as well!

RTFM is the best advice anyone can give you. I'm a newbie too with less than 1 year on this. I lost a DJI F550 becuose I don't read the FULL manual and understand how to setup correctly the failsafe function on my radio.

So take it seriusly and RTFM.

Put the receiver in mode "D" (hold button while powering on, then release and press until 4 flashes on the LED holding down on the 4th flash). Connect one servo cable from the receiver to the NAZA using the single low horizontal "SBUS2" port on the receiver. Link the receiver to the radio. A sample model file is attached (ignore the ".txt" extension -- this is a Futaba formatted model file that you can upload to your radio). Of course, confirm that everything is working correctly in your NAZA software before using.

I am a noob who always reads and rereads manuals, and don't feel flying without doing so would be safe. But I have this exact manual the PO mentions, and it's written HORRIBLY! Couple that with the fact that this Tx has more options than you can shake a stock at, and even a decently versed hobbyist I think might have trouble.

I have read (and continue to read) the manual, marks and dog ears are everywhere. Even bought a book to supplement the manual. Still, if I ran into the "author," I'd throttle the f#%king guy (let's hope it wasn't a woman, I'd be even MORE confused by the species!).

For the price of this Tx, I think I have every right to expect something that at least has complete sentences and thoughts. Not so with this one.

That being said: badtoys, read the manual again, and then again. At that point you'll finally know the name of the company who manufactured it is called Futaba (might take 1 more read-through to get to this point), and then you can use that priceless info to start your google searches :). I figured out something about the 14sg today after a few days of searching, and god knows how many different search terms. Feels like a great victory!!!!

good luck. People here can be incredibly helpful, but I think most want to see that you've tried first. So RTFM again, and check back when you're stumped. This way you'll at least have an understanding of what people are referencing.

Morpreserve I think you are adressing the wrong person. Thanks for the advice, but when I lose my First MC I learn my lesson. Now I always RTFM then Google and then I try.

The futaba sg14 is work of art imho. Yes the programing logic does take a min to get use to, once it clicks it clicks!

This video shows how to program the 8fg but will carry over to a 14. He also has links to the 14sg file, so pretty much plug and play.

Hi again

ok I write now the whole story ,

I got this summer a DJI F450 EVO KIT from Germany as present , and it was already assembled and ready to fly and also with a RC (graupner mx16) ,
last week I got a DJI datalink 2.4 and I had a problem with the RC , the datalink and the Graupner mx 16 did not like eachothers , the RC after 250 m gave me a mistake that is loosing the contact with the F450 , so I decided to change the Graupner mx 16 with the Futaba SG14 , but I did not think that is so hard to understand all the settings in the menu ,,,,, I tried to read the manual but if you have "0" knows about it , you can read it 10 times , or maybe I am too stupid ...it can be that too !!! LOL

I got now that file from that online shop , I had to pay 1 dollar but it is ok , the file is made extry for the Futaba SG14 and the nazav 2 ,

is something I must take care once I have that file settings on my Futaba , I know I must setup also the Naza assistant ....

thanks for the help ....

I am running a Disco and Disco Pro using a 14SG and V1 Naza-M's updated to V2 spec, one with S-BUS2 and one with traditional that will soon be EZUHF PWM.

What specific problem are you having?

I really do not recommend using someone else's setup file, just because it works for someone else does not mean it will work for you, you must learn how to set up your equipment properly yourself, either that or give up right now and take up knitting.

I recommend setting yours up in traditional mode first to get it going and later have a go at setting it up using S-Bus2 once you have learnt how to use your radio and Naza.

Page 6 of the Naza-M V2 manual shows how to do a traditional wiring job, do that and the basics should just work.

Cheers

Thanks for the helpful suggestion Blade Strike and many others. I just bought the 14SG, my first RC radio, because of the good reputation I have gleaned here and from experienced pilots. I have read the manual several times, it is poorly written, and it does take a few times to get the hang of it. I will follow this thread and look to the others mentioned and utilize the videos referenced.

I will continue to read the manual but you all are an important resource - THANK YOU for all your help.

So you just need to program the 14SG for which switch you want to use and set the end points, I have mine set using the heli mode switch SG, I use SB for IOC and SC for failsafe mixing it into the channel for mode.

Under the linkage menu you need to set channel 7 to switch SG and then set the endpoints for channel 7 so that the mode switch lines up in the Naza software to get a blue light.
